Discovering the intricacies of our personality is often a fascinating journey, and personality tests or quizzes have become popular tools for self-exploration. Whether it’s the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator or the Big Five personality traits, these assessments offer valuable insights into our strengths, weaknesses, and overall identity. However, there is one system that delves even deeper, providing a profound understanding of our motivations, fears, and desires: the Enneagram.
The Enneagram is a powerful personality typing system that can be utilized to design your home and enhance your well-being. By understanding your Enneagram type and its associated motivations, fears, and desires, you can create a living space that supports your specific needs and promotes personal growth.Â
For instance, if you are an Enneagram Type 1, who values order and perfection, you may focus on organizing and decluttering your home to create a sense of calm and harmony. If you are an Enneagram Type 7, who seeks adventure and variety, you might incorporate vibrant colors and versatile spaces that encourage exploration and creativity.Â
By aligning your home’s design with your Enneagram type, you can create an environment that nourishes your soul, reduces stress, and enhances overall well-being. Furthermore, the Enneagram can deepen self-awareness and understanding, enabling you to address specific challenges or patterns that may impact your health.Â
By recognizing your tendencies and areas for growth, you can incorporate mindful practices, such as meditation or designated relaxation areas, to support your mental and emotional health. The Enneagram offers a unique lens through which you can design your home in a way that aligns with your personality, cultivates balance, and contributes to your overall health and happiness!
That’s why for this week’s episode we brought on interior designer Jackie Barnes to talk about how she uses the enneagram in her designs and how by designing with it in mind, we can improve our health!
